When Is The Deadline For Abstract Submission?
The deadline to submit an abstract for an oral or e-poster presentation or a proposal for a workshop or symposium of World Café is 23:59 PST on Sunday, 12 May 2019.
How Long Is An Oral Presentation?
An oral presentation is 20 minutes – 10 minutes presentation followed by 10 minutes discussion.
When Will I Know If My Abstract Is Accepted?
Submitters will be notified of abstract selection on or before Friday, 31 May 2019. All communication will be with the presenting author as indicated on the abstract submission.
Can Presenters Use Slides?
Presenters may use slides but please keep them to a minimum and focus on creating a space for interactive dialogue. Each session room will be equipped with a laptop and projector/screen or widescreen monitor.
Do Presenters Need To Register?
All presenters whose abstracts are accepted must confirm their intent to present by registering for the conference before the close of the Early-bird registration, Saturday, 15 June 2019 in order to be included in the conference program.
Presenters assume all costs related to their attendance at the Conference. Sponsor passes CANNOT be used by presenters.
Will Presentations Be Made Available To Delegates After The Conference?
All presentations, including posters will be made available to delegates following the conference. Presenters may request that their presentation not be posted.
When Will E-Posters Be Presented?
E-posters will be on display on rotation on concourse monitors throughout the conference so delegates will be able to view them at their leisure during refreshment breaks and lunch. In addition, each accepted E-poster will be displayed at a designated location in an E-poster Hall for a designated 20 minute time slot during concurrent breakouts at which time the E-poster presenter will be in attendance to engage with delegates.
What Are The Design Specifications For E-Posters?
E-Posters must be submitted as single page pdf’s in 16:9 landscape format.
Detailed instructions on how to prepare and how and when to submit E-Posters will be made available to submitters whose abstracts are accepted for E-Poster presentation.
When Does Registration Open?
Registration will open this week in time for International Nurses Day!
What Food And Beverage Will Be Provided?
- Morning refreshment breaks Monday and Tuesday – coffee, tea, juice, water, sodas, pastries, fruit
- Afternoon refreshment breaks Monday and Tuesday – coffee, tea, juice, water, sodas
- Walkabout Lunches Monday and Tuesday – under development; watch for bulletins and updates
- Monday evening Reception – wine, beer, water, sodas, appetizers
Will Wi-fi Be Available During The Conference?
Wi-Fi is available throughout the Victoria Conference Centre (VCC) however it is not free. The conference organizers have arranged and will pay for delegates’ internet access on a per device – per day basis. Delegates requiring internet access should request a day pass card at the VCC registration desk.
Can International Delegates Register?
Yes. International delegates may require a visa to enter Canada. Visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada for a list of countries for which visa restrictions apply and other pertinent information you may require to complete. The visa application can take several months. We will not issue formal letters of invitation for visa purposes.
Once your registration is paid, you will receive an electronic confirmation of your registration. We will confirm receipt of payment but this does not represent an invitation for visa purposes.
Will Delegates to HCC2019 Receive Continuing Education Credits?
No, conference organizers will not be arranging Continuing Education Credits.
However, those who attend HCC2019 will receive a Certificate of Participation issued jointly by WCSI and GAHCE.
