What is included in the 'Membership Bundle' ticket option?
Referring to ticket pricing details here, *Membership Bundle = GAHCE 1 year membership + HCC2019 Membership Registration.
When you buy a Membership Bundle, you receive a 1 year membership in GAHCE and (as a new member) a member-registration in HCC2019 for less than you would pay for a non-member conference registration.
It does not include a pre-conference workshop ticket. They are sold separately and their pricing is not membership dependent.
When Is The Deadline For Abstract Submission?
The deadline to submit an abstract for an oral or e-poster presentation or a proposal for a workshop or symposium of World Café is 23:59 PST on Sunday, 12 May 2019.
How Long Is An Oral Presentation?
An oral presentation is 25 minutes – 10 minutes presentation followed by 15 minutes discussion.
When Will I Know If My Abstract Is Accepted?
All submitters have been notified by email of the results of the reviews of abstracts. If you have not yet received your email notification, check your spam and junk mail and secondary inbox folders.
Can Presenters Use Slides?
Presenters may use slides but please keep them to a minimum and focus on creating a space for interactive dialogue. Each session room will be equipped with a laptop and projector/screen or widescreen monitor.
Do Presenters Need To Register?
In order for a presentation to be included in the conference program, all presenters must register for the conference before the close of early registration, 14 July 2019.
Presenters assume all costs related to their attendance at the Conference. Sponsor passes CANNOT be used by presenters.
Will Presentations Be Made Available To Delegates After The Conference?
All presentations, including posters will be made available to delegates following the conference. Presenters may request that their presentation not be posted.
In addition, we will be publishing a book of abstracts on the conference website and in a pdf version. We will not be preparing a printed version.
When Will E-Posters Be Presented?
Each accepted E-poster will be displayed at a designated location in an E-poster Hall for a designated 30 minute time slot during concurrent sessions at which time the E-poster presenter will be in attendance to engage with delegates
What Are The Design Specifications For E-Posters?
E-Posters must be submitted as single page pdf’s in 16:9 landscape format.
Detailed instructions on how to prepare and how and when to submit E-Posters will be made available to submitters whose abstracts are accepted for E-Poster presentation.
When Does Registration Open?

What Food And Beverage Will Be Provided?
- Morning refreshment breaks Monday and Tuesday – coffee, tea, juice, water, sodas, pastries, fruit
- Afternoon refreshment breaks Monday and Tuesday – coffee, tea, juice, water, sodas
- Walkabout Lunches Monday and Tuesday
- Monday evening Reception – appetizers and cash bar
Will Wi-fi Be Available During The Conference?
Wi-Fi is available throughout the Victoria Conference Centre (VCC) however it is not free. The conference organizers have arranged and will pay for delegates’ internet access on a per device – per day basis. Delegates requiring internet access should request a day pass card at the VCC registration desk.
Can International Delegates Register?
Yes. International delegates may require a visa to enter Canada. Visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada for a list of countries for which visa restrictions apply and other pertinent information you may require to complete. The visa application can take several months. We will not issue formal letters of invitation for visa purposes.
Once your registration is paid, you will receive an electronic confirmation of your registration. We will confirm receipt of payment but this does not represent an invitation for visa purposes.
Will Delegates to HCC2019 Receive Continuing Education Credits?
No, conference organizers will not be arranging Continuing Education Credits.
However, those who attend HCC2019 will receive a Certificate of Participation issued jointly by WCSI and GAHCE.
